1. Who we are

Silk Road School ("we", "us") operates an online platform connecting university students and recent graduates with internships, practicum placements, trainee programs and entry-level jobs offered by partner organizations.

Silk Road School is a facilitator. We are not the employer, not the university, and not a party to any employment, placement, or educational relationship that results from an application made through the platform. We are not responsible for the terms, pay, duration, or conditions of any opportunity.

2. What data we collect

When you apply for an opportunity we collect: your full name, email address, phone number, country, university, field of study, degree level, year of study or graduate status, your CV (if uploaded), LinkedIn URL (if provided), an optional cover note, and how you heard about the opportunity.

When you submit a partnership or contact inquiry we collect your name, organization, role, contact details, and the content of your message.

We also collect standard technical data (such as browser and device information) needed to operate and secure the website.

3. Why we collect it

We use application data to evaluate your application, communicate with you about it, and match your profile to the requirements of the opportunity.

We use inquiry data to respond to you and to manage our partnerships with universities and employers.

We use technical data to keep the platform secure and to improve it.

4. How we share your data

We share your application data only with the provider of the specific opportunity you applied for, and only for the purpose of processing that application. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with other employers, universities, or third parties for their own marketing.

We may use trusted service providers (such as hosting and email delivery services) who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.

We may disclose data where required by law.

5. How long we keep it

Application data is retained while your application is being processed and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up opportunities or questions, after which it is deleted or anonymized. You may ask us to delete your data earlier (see Section 7).

Contact and inquiry messages are retained as long as needed to handle your request and manage the resulting relationship.

6. How we protect it

We apply technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including access controls and restricted staff access to applications. CVs are stored privately and are accessible only to our team and, for the relevant application, the opportunity provider.

7. Your rights

You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact page.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
